A Break From Party Planning
Meet my precious cat. Her name is Pixie [I didn't choose that name] and I have had her since 5th grade, sooo quite a while. Yes she is completely black, yes I did that intentionally, no I am not superstitious [nor am I racist in case you are exceedingly sensitive and had any doubts]. As you can see she isn't in to having her picture taken. I find dogs are better for that and my anti-social, feminist feline is far from that. I love her anyway.
To change the topic- I have spent the last 4+ hours planning a halloween party. Last night the idea was presented to me by two good friends, and a short time later they had me convinced it would be a marvelous idea for me to host AND cook. I'll admit I did offer both services of my own accord and I regret nothing. Yet. The menu is proving to be a [very] minor issue because my pride keeps me from settling for any mediocre or corny recipes. So the food will be "Fall" themed. Not "Halloween" themed. That being said, I myself am not a picky eater by any stretch of the imagination and what seems perfectly normal and delicious to my taste could be foreign and off-putting to, well, everyone else. I need to constantly remind myself that I want this food to disappear at the party not be avoided. Suggestions are most welcome, just send me an email [lovethemgiraffes@gmail.com] however sensitive souls beware... As my mother will gladly tell you I have a tendency to shoot down ideas with no tact what-so-ever. Seriously though, I will exercise restraint if you are willing to help.
Thus ends my break. Back to work I go.
