Thursday afternoon I had a uh, bad experience and it left me feeling pretty sick. I was extremely light headed, thirsty like you would not believe, and so hungry it felt like I could never eat enough. It was terrible. The only thing that didn't set me off in a wave of nausea was to curl up on the couch in the fetal position and watch tv. Now, prior to Thursday I had never heard of the show "Grimm" but as I sat in my weakened, grim[hehe] state giggling about everything, I started with the beginning of season 1 and got hooked. Since then [it is now Saturday afternoon] I have watched almost the whole season. I suppose I have sort of an addictive personality because once I get started on a idea, show, or project it's difficult for me to think about anything else. This most likely means I am addicted to the show but it is SO GOOD. You should definitely check it out.
Oh, and by the way... I am feeling MUCH better thank you.

The Art Of Improvising
Last night I was on my own for dinner so I thought to myself "Hey, why not go all out?" I made a trip to the grocery store, bought a few things for the recipe I thought I remembered, and got home to find that only ONE of the correct ingredients was purchased. It was a major let down. On the counter I had sausage, mushrooms, and fettucine... but a recipe for broccoli and sausage linguine. I turned to my computer and started searching for a plan b. Unfortunately, I couldn't find a recipe that matched up with the items in my fridge. So I just started throwing things together. I cooked up the sausage and mushrooms, strained them out and set it aside. To the pan with all the drippings I poured in chicken stock, canned tomatoes [from our backyard], onion, herbs, fresh basil [also from our yard], kosher salt, pepper, and simmered until it thickened. Meanwhile the fettucine was happily boiling away. After I was satisfied with the consistency of my sauce, I added the sausage and mushroom back in and continued to let it simmer while I strained the pasta. Once everything was finished I mixed the fettucine with the sauce and dished it up. Oh my goodness. It was fabulous. The sausage gave it the perfect amount of spice and the fresh sweet basil was a perfect compliment. I only wish I could make it again but since I didn't measure a single ingredient, it probably won't taste the same. Oh well, it was nice while it lasted.
