I have a very sensitive sense of smell. Usually it is a wonderful gift and can be used to appreciate so many things [like a certain male co-worker who I am certain that on a scale of 1-10 has never smelled less than a 50 a day in his life]. Other times...not so much. For instance my migraines are often triggered by smell. Or a sudden wave of nausea will leave me unable to catch my breath if I am around red beets or roses [long story]. Call me a drama queen if you must, but this is no exaggeration. Sometimes I wish I could turn my nose on and off depending on where I am...like if someone has just shown up on my doorstep with a bouquet of roses that I want SO much to enjoy. It occurs to me now that this must be a random thought to be sharing, however, there were beets on the dinner table tonight which reminded me of other smells I don't enjoy, which in turn reminded me of folding clothes at work after they have been tried on by a customer with terrible body odor. Well I completely lost my train of thought and seeing as my mother just brought me warm banana [thank you Gwen Stefani, I couldn't spell that without you]bread I guess I'm off. After all...who am I turn turn down freshly baked deliciousness?
P.S.- Banana bread is a fabulous smell, both in and out of the oven. But mostly in.
